Join us for a free Learn to Speedskate session. We provide the instruction and skates, you provide the desire to learn and have fun.
Short Track Speed Skating is one of the Winter Olympics' most popular sports. This program gives anyone the opportunity to learn in a fun, safe and supportive environment. This is a unique chance for skaters of all ages and abilities to take to the ice and try for themselves a sport they have only seen on TV.
Equipment: You must bring a helmet, (bicycle or hockey helmets are fine), gloves, thin socks, warm preferably tight fitting long pants and a long sleeve shirt or jacket. We provide speed skates, knee pads and a neck guard.
Experience: The only skating ability you need is to be able to skate around the rink unassisted and come to a safe stop.
Registration: Registration is online and space is limited - register early to ensure your participation.
Arrival: You must arrive to the rink by 1:30pm for an orientation and skate fitting. You will be on the ice from 2:30pm to 3:20pm.
